Washed Up Saturday

Places to spend Saturday afternoons. The first fragile warmth of spring sunshine.Lilac time and wisteria hysteria. The first sounds of lawnmowers and the first grilled meat whiff of a garden BBQ burn up. Just warm enough to consider the consumption of some dead animal al fresco or sit outside a downtown café and enjoy a few beers.

A Saturday saunter in downtown Rouen, and this cliché of the bald bloke down the launderette (or laundromat) doing his weekend wash and watch his socks and smalls whirl round at 800rpm. This is one of the desperately sad photos of life in the single lane. When this is where the road goes, what hope is there? All washed out on a Spring Saturday.
