A day of closing down, shutting up, taking stock, finishing off – a day for tying up loose ends. The mad rush to get everything finished before next year. And this evening, the party atmosphere, champagne, streamers, fireworks … pop your cork  and finish the year with a bang – all troubles and problems magically conjured away because this is a NEW YEAR.  All your problems banished because today is Tuesday and tomorrow is Wednesday HOORAY.
