The start of the New Year. Time to take stock, which is what they are doing at my local DIY (hardware) store – closed all day for stock taking. It’s the same case at London Zoo – (and apparently all world zoos today) – the big animal count is on. According to a zoo spokesperson, the « mammoth task » of counting will take several weeks – giraffes, elephants and suchlike are easy, the problem comes with insects and fish. It’s easy enough to see if you’re missing an elephant, but when it comes to ants … how do you count ants? So a mammoth task it may be, but the zoo has no mammoths.
Wishing you all a mammoth 2014
