Walking round an army maintenance depot. There’s a big modernisation programme going on, smart new fighting machines, bristling with computer tech and connected, hooked up battle field coms. And when it all fails, troubleshooting is all plug and play. Far away from the new toys, stand the old warriors. Faithful mechanical stalwarts that have served the nation, in war and peace, carrying vital cargos up to the fighting troops. They now sit idle and broken in gentle rusting retirement and general indifference. Classic cars are romantic, but it seems there’s no love for lorries.
A few sad and poetic clichés of rusting wrecks. Hard times for old warriors.
