Peeling Paint

Peeling Paint

There’s that expression about being as exciting as watching paint dry. Here is a new take, as exciting as watching paint peeling. Well peeling paint gives some great texture.

So, this is was the idea. The morning walk to work, going past a line of garages, all with those metal up-and-over doors, redolent of the 1970s, and looking at these doors, for sure they haven’t been painted since the 70s.  Were I an enterprising artist with massive gallery space, I’d buy all these doors and put them as an art exhibit – urban art, perhaps hang them on the walls as a giant garage door collage – OK, I’m not an artist, I’ve got no gallery, but with a few clicks of the mobile phone and a little readjustment with a basic photo editing app, and we have a photo collage of garage doors in all their peeling and textural delapidating glory, and so random. Only time and the elements could have achieved such an effect. I love these. Street photography, collage and urban decay. Enjoy.
