A weekend away in the northernmost French City of Lille. A few urban clichés. The usual classics – open spaces / wasteland, buildings, incongruous sculptures and abandoned shopping trolleys. I call it urban photography, though it could be street photography or simply a venacular view. All of these photos snapped with my old i phone, which is actually not a bad tool for photos on the move, but it will never beat a good camera.

Knocking down the ld to make way for the brave new world. I look at this house in demolition and just ask, where was he bathroom?

And now, that essential item in an urban landscape … the abandoned shopping cart.
